Mr Waqar Mahmood is a distinguished Defense engineering professional and retired Colonel of the Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME) of Pakistan Army, with three decades of extensive experience in Defense systems engineering, military equipment lifecycle management, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), defense production, and technical capability development.
During his illustrious military career, Mr Waqar held senior leadership and technical appointments involving the management, sustainment, and operational readiness of complex Defense platforms and critical engineering assets. His expertise encompasses engineering operations, fleet readiness, configuration management, maintenance strategy development, reliability enhancement, and indigenous support capability creation.
Leveraging his deep understanding of military requirements and Defense industrial ecosystems, Mr Waqar provides strategic leadership in developing advanced Defense solutions, strengthening industrial partnerships, and establishing sustainable support frameworks. His experience bridges the gap between operational requirements, engineering excellence, and industrial execution, enabling organizations to deliver mission-critical capabilities with international standards of quality and reliability.
As Director – Defense Projects, Mr Waqar leads the Company’s Defense initiatives in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, supporting the development of localized Defense manufacturing, MRO capabilities, technical training ecosystems, and integrated lifecycle support solutions aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 and national defense localization objectives.
His leadership, technical expertise, and strategic insight continue to contribute to building resilient Defense capabilities, fostering technology partnerships, and delivering long-term value to customers, government entities, and strategic industry partners.
